Hello! We're The Moved Mover Studio, and today we're excited to share what we've been working on.
MutaRift is a bullet-hell survival roguelite with a twist: you don't just kill monsters — you capture and absorb them. Each absorbed monster mutates your character, giving you new weapons and changing your appearance. Absorb a slime? You grow a slime arm. Absorb a bat? Wings sprout from your back.
The game follows a broke office worker who stumbles into a shady "dimensional management" job. Fight through Fantasy, Cyberpunk, and Space dimensions, deal with your boss's phone calls, manage your stress, and try to pay this month's rent.
▸ What's Done So Far
We've completed the full prototype with all core systems:
• Monster capture & mutation (10 fusion recipes, 6 synergies)
• 4 playable characters with unique capture styles
• 3 dimensions with distinct enemies and environmental effects
• Stress & burnout system (because even dimension-hopping has HR concerns)
• Farm system — grow dimensional seeds on the office rooftop
• Boss fights including the CEO final boss (4 phases!)
• Node map progression, shops, permanent upgrades
• Codex, achievements, quest board, and more
▸ First Sprites!
This week we replaced the placeholder rectangles with actual pixel art sprites for the player character. We used PixelLab's skeleton-based animation to generate consistent walk cycles across all directions.

The title screen also got a major glow-up with a custom logo and atmospheric background.
▸ What's Next
Enemy sprites are the biggest remaining task — 15 enemy types, 4 bosses, and NPCs all need pixel art. We're targeting a web demo on itch.io by July and Steam release in December 2026.
